Many porous materials are used as chemical carriers in the chemical process industry. Included among these materials are activated carbon, zeolites, and pumice.
The light weight, high porosity, and high surface area of Navajo Brand® pumice, together with the fact that it is chemically inert, makes it ideal to serve as a chemical carrier.
The typical void volume of Navajo Brand® pumice is 50% and varies according to the size of the granule. Bulk density varies from 25 to 40 lbs per cubic foot.
Navajo Brand® pumice has several products for this application.
